When you sign up for an business account on Lemi, you get a custom Lemi webpage located at for example lemiapp.com/coolcafe
What if you’d like to make your page accessible at a custom domain you own, such as coolcafe.com?
Before you start:
- You need to purchase the domain name if you haven’t already. You can use a domain name registrar like namecheap.com or godaddy.com
- You’ll need to have access to modify the DNS records for your domain
- If you already have a website at your custom domain name, it won’t be accessible after you switch
- If you have email set up at the domain, for example via Google Apps, it will be accessible after you switch.
To set up your custom domain, there are two steps.
Step 1 – Enter domain name
First log into your Lemi Dashboard, go to Edit Profile > Custom Domain. If you don’t see this option in your account yet, just email us on help@lemiapp.comand we’ll help you get things set up.

Step 2 – Change DNS Records
You need to log into your domain name registrar and edit the DNS records. You need to add an A record pointing at the IP address 52.27.71.208 for the root “@” domain and “www” subdomain. How this works depends on your domain registrar, examples for Namecheap and Godaddy:
For GoDaddy
- Sign in to your account
- Go to the “My Domains” tab and click the three dots next to the domain name. Select “Manage DNS” in the dropdown menu.
- Delete any existing A, AAAA and CNAME records for the root domain indicated by @ and www. Do not delete any MX records (used for email)
- Add a new A record. Type “@” into the “Host” field and point it to 52.27.71.208.
- Add another A record. Type “www” into the “Host” field and point it to 52.27.71.208
For Namecheap
- Sign in to your account
- Go to the Dashboard and click on Manage next to the domain name
- Go to the “Advanced DNS” tab.
- Delete any existing A, AAAA and CNAME records for the root domain indicated by @ and www. Do not delete any MX records (used for email)
- Add a new A record. Type “@” into the “Host” field and point it to 52.27.71.208.
- Add another A record. Type “www” into the “Host” field and point it to 52.27.71.208
Step 3 – Wait 24 hours
Due to the way DNS works, it will take a minimum of 24 hours before your new website is live. If you cannot see your custom domain after waiting 24 hours, please let us know at help@lemiapp.com
